Dhaka stocks slip at mid-day as blue-chips drag

Equities on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) dropped as of mid-day trading today, reversing gains of the previous session.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, declined 11.99 points, or 0.21 percent, to 5,511.78 by 12:32 pm, according to DSE data.
The mood was mixed across the board: the Shariah-compliant DSES inched up 0.02 percent to 1,196.58, while the blue-chip DS30 went down 0.11 percent to 2,148.63.
Turnover, an indicator of investor activity, reached Tk 398.41 crore at the time.
Market breadth was positive, with 111 issues advancing against 197 declining, and 87 holding steady.
Among the notable moves, ACME Pesticides Limited shot up 9.88 percent to top the gainers' list, while Global Islami Bank slid 8.70 percent, posting the worst fall of the session so far.
