Dhaka stocks gain for 3rd session as turnover hits Tk 340cr

Shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose in morning trade today, extending their winning streak for the third session.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, increased 53.27 points, or 0.98 percent, to 5,445.92 by 12:06 pm, according to DSE data.

The mood was positive across the board: the Shariah-compliant DSES inched up, while the blue-chip DS30 also rose.

Turnover, an indicator of investor activity, reached Tk 340.68 crore at the time.

Market breadth was positive, with 292 issues advancing against 49 declining, and 53 holding steady.

Among the notable moves, Prime Finance & Investment shot up 10 percent to top the gainers' list, while CVO Petrochemical Refinery slid 3.63 percent, posting the worst fall of the session so far.
