'Businesses should adopt green tech to fight climate change'
The country's businessmen should adopt green technologies to meet the challenges of climate change, said Md Jashim Uddin, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
At the same time, initiatives should be taken to adopt modern production methods from now on, he said.
To meet the target of exporting $300 billion by 2041, new technologies will have to be added to the production system in readymade garments, agricultural products, frozen fish, jute and leather products, medicines, plastic products and other sectors, he said.
He made the comments at the "FBCCI Members Night 2023" organised by FBCCI on July 22 at International Convention City Bashundhara in the capital.
Incorporating new technologies in the industry will require a lot of local and foreign investment and businessmen have to work keeping these things in mind, Jashim Uddin added.
Bangladeshi businessmen should take more promotional activities to further increase market share in India and China markets, he also said.
