Berger Paints’ profit fails to keep pace with sales
High prices of raw materials and the recent devaluation of the taka against the US currency took a toll on the profits of Berger Paints Bangladesh.
The multinational paint maker's sales rose significantly in the last July-September quarter but its profit could not keep pace with it.
The company's profits rose 11 per cent year-on-year to Tk 45.7 crore when its sales advanced nearly 21 per cent to Tk 542 crore in the three months, according to the Berger's financial report.
In the half yearly April to September period of 2022, the company's profits hit Tk 133 crore, which was 16 per cent higher year-on-year.
Today, the stock price of the paint maker stood Tk 1,711 at the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the same as the last trading day.
