Bangladesh needs a truth commission for economic crimes: Lutfey Siddiqi

Bangladesh needs a truth commission to uncover economic crimes and determine how defaulted loans were created, said Lutfey Siddiqi, special envoy to the chief adviser on international affairs.

"I think we have to develop a proper taxonomy because that is the only way to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past," he said today at an event in Dhaka.

The Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh organised the discussion on bank failures and the resolution regime.
