Stocks return to gaining streak

The stock market in Bangladesh opened higher today, breaking three days' losing streak.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose 12 points, or 0.19 per cent, to 6,324 at 12:40 pm. Turnover stood at Tk 324 crore.

Of the securities, 224 advanced, 102 declined and 56 remained unchanged.

Meghna Pet Industries gained the most with a 9.96 per cent rise. Meghna Condensed Milk Industries, Meghna Insurance, Bangladesh Welding Electrodes and Imam Button Industries were also on the top gainers' list.
