CHATTOGRAM MINOR 'RAPED'
In Boalkhali of Chattogram, an 11-year-old was allegedly raped by her tutor.
The girl's family said she went to the house of Aktarul Alam, alias Munshi Miah, 68, in Syadnagar village in the upazila on Sunday morning for Arabic lessons.
While Aktarul allowed all other students to leave after the session, he, however, did not let the girl leave, Sairul Islam, officer-in-charge of Boalkhali Police Station, said.
In the absence of his family members in his house, Aktarul raped the girl and also “took pictures and recorded video clips” of the incident, the OC said, referring to the case statement.
When the girl reached home in tears, her mother asked her what happened and learned that she was “raped” by the tutor.
After a case was filed yesterday, police arrested Aktarul and the girl was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for medical examination, Sairul said.
