College student stabbed to death in Ctg

A female college student was stabbed to death and her sister-in-law was badly injured in an attack by unidentified people at the latter's home in the district's Hathazari upazila on Friday Night.

The dead, Afsana Parvin Bulu, and the injured, Nasrin Akhter Tuntu, are from North Dhalai in the upazila.

Belal Uddin Jahangir, officer-in-charge of Hathazari Police Station, said locals rushed to Nasrin's home around 8:30pm after hearing screams and found the two lying in a pool of blood.

They were sent to Hathazari Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared Afsana dead. As the condition of Nasrin deteriorated, she was later taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Quoting locals the OC said Afsana, a 23-year-old student of BBS at Katirhat Mohila Degree College in Hathazari, used to live with Nasrin and tutor her two children.

The police official suspected the incident might have happened over family feud.

Police sent the victim's body to Chittagong Medical College morgue for an autopsy. A case was filed with Hathazari Police Station yesterday in connection with the incident.

Nasrin's husband Khorshed went into hiding following the incident.
