"It's nearly impossible to stay outside in this relentless cold blowing in from the north," said a local.
Passing by the River View High School in Thakurgaon town, a lot of eateries will come into sight. However, one that is often seen abuzz with customers is “Amena Hotel”.
The government has refixed prices at which it would buy sugarcane from farmers, raising hopes that it would encourage an increase in the crop’s cultivation across the country.
After nearly 21 years, Thakurgaon Silk Factory resumed its production last week with the new name ‘Suprio Silk Factory’.

Abu Bakkar Siddique, a resident of Natore, met his son at Panchagarh Sadar upazila after some months. They had planned to enjoy each other’s company at Jalsa Salana, an annual gathering for people belonging to the Ahmadiyya community.
He spent his entire life savings to build a house for his family, and then he had to watch that house go up in flames in a matter of minutes.
