[WATCH] Scintillating Shehnai

Brilliant musician duo, Sanjeev and Ashwani Shankar recently enthralled Dhaka audience with a Shehnai recitation at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre in Gulshan.

The duo, who also happen to be brothers, have given a large number of performances in India and other countries such as France, Spain, Ireland, UK, Scotland, Hungary, Slovakia, Japan, Bangladesh, USA, Canada, Indonesia, Switzerland, Norway, Holland and Portugal.

Shehnai is an Indian sub-continental tubular instrument and the word originates from Turkey meaning “royal flute” which has been part of the musical landscape for more than a hundred years in the sub-continent.
