Equalizer sequel release date announced
Sony has set a Sept. 29, 2017, release date for its sequel to the Denzel Washington thriller “The Equalizer” — three years after the original opened.
The studio had officially announced the second installment in April during its CinemaCon presentation. The R-rated auctioneer generated solid results with $192 million.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Washington is expected to reprise his role as vigilante Robert McCall in “Equalizer 2”. Chloe Grace Moretz and Marton Csokas co-starred in the original, based on the 1980s TV series of the same name.
Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day”) directed the first “Equalizer”, produced by Escape Artists, co-financed by Village Roadshow and debuted at the Toronto Film Festival.
“The Equalizer 2″ is the first film dated for Sept. 29, 2017.
