Ranveer back on 'Bajirao Mastani' sets
Ranveer Singh, who was on an unfortunate sabbatical following a shoulder injury, recently went back on the sets of “Bajirao Mastani”. The actor was quite panicked at the idea of joining the shoot after such a prolonged ailment because the character itself is extremely demanding physically.
A source close to the film says, “While everyone has always seen Ranveer as this fun, energetic person who is always oozing confidence and full of life, the actor does have his moments where he is overwhelmed and nervous about giving a challenging performance. On his way to the sets, Ranveer was a bundle of nerves especially since he was returning to the sets post his shoulder injury.
Ranveer, when quizzed about it, added, “I was extremely nervous when I drove down to the shoot. I had not faced the camera in two-and-a-half months. As I always do in times like these, I called up my father. He assured me I'd be just fine. I heard him out, reached the set, put on my costume and I immediately felt like the great Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao. After that I went out there and nailed it.”
The historical romance, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, also stars Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, and was originally slated for release at the end of this year.
