Parineeti Chopra confirmed in "Golmaal 4"

Actress Parineeti Chopra is set to tickle the funny bone of Bollywood fans, with her new role in the fourth installation of the Golmaal franchise.

Actor Ajay Devgan welcomed the actress to the 'crazy Golmaal family' in a tweet on Sunday.

Parineeti, who is currently busy with Yash Raj Films' "Meri Pyaari Bindu" and Homi Adajania's "Takadum: with Sushant Singh Rajput and Irrfan Khan, tweeted back: "I am so excited to be a part of this family". 

Parineeti's casting lays to rest speculation about whether or not actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who collaborated with filmmaker Rohit Shetty in the first two installments of the franchise, would return for "Golmaal Again". Names of actresses Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt also made the rounds. However, Kareena might be a part of a special song in the film.

The first film in the franchise, "Golmaal: Fun Unlimited", released in 2006. Besides Ajay Devgan, the film starred Sharman Joshi, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Rimi Sen. The sequel, "Golmaal Returns", released in 2008 while "Golmaal 3" hit the screens in 2010.

"Golmaal Again" will be a 2017 Diwali release.
