2 killed in human hauler-motorbike collision in Manikganj

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a human hauler and a motorcycle on the Hemayetpur-Singair regional highway in Singair upazila of Manikganj last night.

The deceased were identified as Ashraf Khan (55) -- who was on the motorbike -- of Airmara village in Manikganj Sadar upazila and human hauler passenger Abdullah (8), son of Abdul Jalil of Bartala village under Sreepur upazila of Magura district, said police.

Sources at Singair Police Station said the Hemayetpur-bound human hauler (Leguna) collided with the motorbike in Basta Bus stand area around 8:00pm yesterday. Both the vehicles plunged into the roadside ditch after collision.

Abdullah drowned in water and his body were recovered around 10:30pm by firefighters, said police.

Critically injured Ashraf was taken to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar where doctors declared him dead, the sources added.
