RUET team to represent Bangladesh in Formula SAE Japan 2025

Team Crack Platoon from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) is representing Bangladesh in Formula SAE Japan 2025, one of the world's most prestigious engineering design competitions, where students build and race formula-style electric vehicles.
Formula SAE Japan 2025 officially started on September 8 at Aichi Sky Expo and will continue until September 13. This year, among numerous global applicants, 90 teams have been selected, with Team Crack Platoon from RUET being the only Bangladeshi team to qualify. They are also representing South Asia, as no other team from the region has qualified for this year's competition.
Organised annually by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the event is considered by many as the 'Olympics of Engineering Students', challenging participants to design, manufacture, and test vehicles that meet strict international standards. Teams are evaluated across multiple categories, including design, cost analysis, business presentation, and dynamic performance on track.
Team Crack Platoon will compete with CP-Astrion, their third-generation electric racing car featuring a Tesla-sponsored battery technology, a lightweight composite chassis, and aerodynamic wings. According to the team, this car has been built to Formula SAE's international safety and performance standards.
Regarding the competition, team captain Saadman Saqueeb said, "We're excited to learn from the best and show that Bangladeshi students can compete on this global stage. What makes us different is the story behind CP-Astrion, built with limited resources but with huge passion and teamwork."
The team hopes their journey will encourage more students to explore innovation. Saqueeb added, "We want our journey to prove that world-class engineering is possible from Bangladesh. If we can do it, others can too, and we hope this sparks a culture of hands-on learning and innovation across South Asia."
The full team of Crack Platoon consists of 28 members working across different divisions such as design, electrical, mechanical, and business operations. Leading as the head of the sectors are Saadman Saqueeb (Team Captain), Sudipto Mondal (Electrical Head), Md Habibullah (Mechanical Head), Md Nayem (Design Head), and Rafiul Haque Ayon (Business Head).
