Millions of Gmail users have been warned of a major data breach that has exposed as many as 183 million email accounts and their associated passwords, according to a report by The Independent.

The leak, which reportedly took place in April, was recently flagged by Have I Been Pwned, a cybersecurity website that tracks data breaches and alerts users when their information is compromised.

According to a recent report by The Daily Mail, Australian cyber expert Troy Hunt, described the incident as a "vast corpus" of breached data amounting to 3.5 terabytes.

Users have been urged to verify whether their information has been affected by visiting Have I Been Pwned. If found compromised, experts recommend immediately changing passwords and enabling two-factor authentication, which adds an additional layer of protection even if a password is stolen, as per the report by The Independent.
