Apple launches first store in India
Earlier today, Apple's CEO Tim Cook inaugurated the tech giant's first retail store in India, situated in the bustling city of Mumbai.
According to the Indian version of the Apple website, the newly inaugurated Indian store, named Apple BKC, is located in Jio World Drive, Bandra Kurla Complex, Maharashtra, Mumbai. The website also states that Apple is planning on launching another store in India later this week, with the second one on the Select Citywalk in Saket, New Delhi's District Centre.
"The energy, creativity, and passion in Mumbai is incredible! We are so excited to open Apple BKC — our first store in India," stated Tim Cook on his Twitter, sharing a photo of an energetic crowd flocking the newly launched store with him.
According to a report by Reuters, around 300 people gathered at the venue hoping to be among the first customers to enter the first Apple store in India - some even queuing outside the store from the previous night. The inauguration event also featured local music and folk dancers, with dedicated Apple fans waiting in line to get Cook's signature on their beloved Apple products.
