The Supreme Court yesterday acquitted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, her son, BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, and four others of corruption charges in the Zia Orphanage Trust case.
The Supreme Court yesterday stayed the High Court verdict that doubled BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s jail term to 10 years in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.
The High Court fixes Tuesday, July 3, for hearing four separate appeals in connection to Zia Orphanage Trust graft case in which BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been sentenced to five years’ imprisonment.
The appeal against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s bail, in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case, is forwarded to a full bench hearing slated for tomorrow.
