Director Tanim Noor and his team behind “Utshob” were honoured with the Cinematic Excellence Award at Blender’s Choice – The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards, yesterday.
Within 29 days of its release, “Utshob” has crossed Tk 5 crore in ticket sales across the country’s multiplexes. The film has also performed beyond expectations in international markets such as Australia and the United States. Currently, it is running with the highest number of shows in several Cineplexes.

The film has already struck a chord with urban audiences, with most screenings at local multiplexes going houseful. In its second week, showtimes have been increased to meet growing demand.
For anyone who grew up “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, “Utshob” is a warm wave of nostalgia. I’m deeply grateful to my wife Shormila Akter, director and producer Shakeeb Fahad, and, last but not least, Chorki, who believed in me and stood by me throughout the journey.”
