The concluding day of the grand celebrations marking the 185th anniversary of Faridpur Zilla School and its reunion programme descended into chaos yesterday, abruptly ending what was meant to be a festive occasion.
According to reports, at around 10pm, organising committee convenor Mustafizur Rahman Shamim announced that the concert had been cancelled on the instructions of the Faridpur Deputy Commissioner.
This year's “Riyadh Season”, organised by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Media, features artistes from nine countries, including Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan. The 45-day event, which began on October 12, will conclude on November 30.
On Sunday evening, the bustling Amazura Hall in New York, became the epicentre of excitement as eager spectators filled all seats, to catch a glimpse of the highly anticipated performance by Nagarbaul James. It had been nearly five years since James last graced New York's stage, and the Bengali community turned out in full force to welcome him.
In recent times, rock icon James has been on a roll, releasing new music and performing frequently with his band, Nagarbaul. Now, the artiste is all set to embark on a musical journey in the US, with his band, for an upcoming concert.
