How will an Intelligent Transport System be implemented?

The Roads and Highways Department is going to establish a dedicated Road Operation Unit (ROU) to manage and monitor the Joydebpur-Rangpur highway efficiently.

National Development Engineers Ltd (NDE) of Bangladesh and FiberHome Telecommunication Technologies Co Ltd of China will construct several facilities within 18 months for Tk 145.29 crore and an additional Tk 6.66 crore will be spent for operation and maintenance for four years.

The ROU will also incorporate an Intelligent Transport System.
