Blockbuster Round of 16 fixtures and more
The nerve-wracking Round of 32 of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 came to an end on Saturday morning with defending champions Argentina, Colombia and Egypt clinching the final three berths in the Round of 16.
Argentina survived a major scare before edging tournament debutants Cape Verde 3-2 in one of the most thrilling matches of the tournament, while Colombia booked their place with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ghana. Egypt also held their nerve to eliminate Australia in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.
The Round of 16 gets underway tonight with hosts Canada taking on Morocco before Paraguay face France. Among the standout ties are Brazil against Norway, Portugal versus Spain and defending champions Argentina taking on Egypt.
