Rizwan out cheaply after being flown in by helicopter
On Friday night, Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan smashed 77 off 74 balls against New Zealand in Karachi in the third and final ODI.
The next morning, the wicketkeeper-batter was flown all the way to Chattogram by a desperate Comilla Victorians who were searching for their first win in the Bangladesh Premier League on Saturday.
With two defeats in their first two matches, defending champions Victorians were up against Shakib Al Hasan's Fortune Barsihal. Rizwan took the long flight to Dhaka and landed at the outer ground of the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on a helicopter ride, less than an hour before the start of the match.
The Pakistani batter did manage to join the team just in time, but he wasn't able to make much of an impact for Comilla with the bat.
Chasing a fighting target of 178 runs, Rizwan opened the innings confidently with a couple of sixes against Chaturanga de Silva and looked set for a big score.
But the right-hander was dismissed in a rather bizarre manner when he top-edged pacer Kamrul Islam Rabbi while trying to work a straight-forward delivery on the leg side.
Rizwan was dismissed for 18 off eleven deliveries as the desperate measures from the Comilla franchise to flow in the star Pakistani cricketer on an emergency call ended up in disappointment.
