The 2025 Asia Cup will get underway on Tuesday with Afghanistan facing Hong Kong in the tournament opener at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

As the T20 format returns for the first time since 2022, here are some of the standout records from past editions:

HIGHEST INDIVIDUAL SCORE

Virat Kohli holds the record with an unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan in Dubai (2022). The only other centurion in T20 Asia Cups is Hong Kong's Babar Hayat, who also scored 122 against Oman in 2016.

BEST BOWLING FIGURES

Bhuvneshwar Kumar's sensational 5 for 4 against Afghanistan in 2022 remains unmatched. He is the only bowler to take a five-wicket haul in the tournament's T20 history.

HIGHEST TEAM SCORE

India is the only team to cross the 200-run mark, posting 212-2 against Afghanistan in 2022.

LOWEST TEAM SCORE

Hong Kong slumped to 38 all out against Pakistan in 2022 — the lowest total in the tournament's T20 history. Not a single batter reached double figures in that innings.

LOWEST TOTAL DEFENDED

Sri Lanka defended 129 against UAE in Mirpur (2016), winning by 14 runs.

MOST CATCHES IN A MATCH (NON-WICKETKEEPER)

Hong Kong's Babar Hayet holds this record, thanks to the four catches he grabbed against Afghanistan in Mirpur in 2016.
