Hosts Bangladesh are slotted in Group A alongside defending champions India, Thailand, Uganda and Germany in the 2nd Women's Kabaddi World Cup 2025, set to begin in Dhaka from November 17.

The groups and the schedule of the 11-team tournament were declared yesterday. The remaining six teams -- Iran, Nepal, Chinese Taipei, Poland, Kenya and Zanzibar -- were slotted together in Group B.

On Sunday, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus unveiled the trophy at a ceremony that took place at the state guest house Jamuna. Adviser of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Asif Mahmud, president of International Kabaddi Federation Binod Kumar and other dignitaries were also present at the event.

The top two teams from each groups will qualify for the semifinals and the eight-day tournament will conclude with the final on November 24.

All matches will take place at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Dhaka.

Bangladesh will play against Uganda in the opening match scheduled to begin at 3:00pm.

This is the first time Bangladesh is hosting the Women's Kabaddi World Cup.
