U-18s beat Bhutan 2-0
Bangladesh beat Bhutan 2-0 in their last match of the SAFF U-18 Championship in Thimphu today, keeping their hopes of winning the title very much alive.
The championship's top-scorer Jafar Iqbal came on as a second-half substitute to score both goals after Bangladesh found it hard to break down the hosts' defence in the first half.
The win lifted Bangladesh to top of the table, but they will have to wait for the last match of the competition between Nepal and India for the final standings.
Bangladesh will emerge champions if India beats Nepal or the game ends in a draw. However, if Nepal win that game, the team from Himalayan kingdom will succesfsully retain the title.
