Tabith, Kiron named in Fifa committees

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Tabith Awal has been appointed as a member of a prestigious committee under Fifa, the global governing body of football. He has been nominated to the Fifa Football Technology, Innovation & Digital Transformation Committee.

This committee plays a vital role in shaping the future of football through the integration of technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Alongside Awal, the committee includes members from various countries such as Bahrain, Rwanda, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Scotland.

The committee is chaired by Thorvaldur Orlygsson of Iceland, with Jorge Giménez of Venezuela serving as the deputy chairman.

Meanwhile, Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, member of both AFC and BFF, has been selected as a member of the Fifa Youth Girls' Competition Committee. This committee focuses on youth development and the organization of girls' football competitions worldwide.

Kiron joins representatives from countries including Yemen, Congo, DPR Korea, Cambodia, Peru, Iran, Nepal, Zambia, Aruba, American Samoa, Grenada, and Latvia, among others.

Although Kiron had previously been a member of Fifa, this is the first appointment of Tabith in a global football body committee.
