Bangladesh maintained their stunning run in the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers with another comprehensive victory, outclassing Sri Lanka 5-0 in their third Group A match in China on Wednesday.

The result followed their earlier 5-0 win over Timor-Leste and an 8-0 thrashing of Brunei, keeping the boys in red and green firmly on track for a place in the final round.

Defender Ikramul Islam opened the scoring in the 24th minute when he met Mohammad Arif's perfectly weighted cross with a powerful header. Five minutes later, Bangladesh doubled the lead as Opu Rahman slipped a clever pass to Mohammad Manik, who controlled expertly before finishing with composure.

Bangladesh continued to press relentlessly after the break, and their dominance paid off again in the 64th minute. Rifat Kazi released captain Nazmul Huda Faysal, who beat a defender with ease before calmly slotting the ball home to make it 3-0. The young forward was at the heart of the late onslaught as Bangladesh added two more goals in stoppage time.

In the 90th minute, Bayezid Bostami struck with a stunning long-range effort that flew past the Sri Lankan goalkeeper. Just a minute later, Faysal completed the rout with his second of the match -- a superb half-volley from distance that capped off another impressive team performance.

With three emphatic wins from three matches and a staggering goal tally, Bangladesh now turn their focus to their final group fixture against Bahrain on Friday.
