Argentina edged out Mauritania 2-1 in a friendly at La Bombonera on Friday, powered by a dominant first half featuring goals from Enzo Fernández and a Nico Paz free kick.

Despite Lionel Messi’s second-half introduction, the Albiceleste struggled to maintain momentum.

Mauritania capitalized on the drop in intensity, with Jordan Lefort scoring late to create a tense finish.

Argentina now look ahead to their final home match against Zambia this Tuesday before the World Cup, while Mauritania prepare to face Palestine.
