Perera cleared from any serious injury
Sri Lankan cricketer Kusal Janith Perera is still under observation in hospital but he is out of danger now.
He sustained the injury when fielding during the third test match against West Indies. He was immediately rushed to hospital by an ambulance for a treatment.
Perara injured himself after colliding with an advertisement board on the boundary line. Perara intercepted a slog, but lost control with the momentum from his leap taking him beyond the boundary. He overbalanced and crashed into the advertising hoardings, landing awkwardly on his front. He immediately clutched his chest and signalled for assistance.
This happened in the 5th delivery of the 29th over with West Indies reeling on 82 for 9 of Dilruwan Perera.
The day night test match is currently underway at the Kensington Oval, in Bridgetown, Barbados. Perara wouldn't bat for the remainder of the day. In his absence, Danushka Gunathilaka and Mahela Udawatte opened in Sri Lanka's quest to chase down 144.
