Williams, Welch put Zimbabwe in command at Tea

Bangladesh bowlers failed to make any breakthroughs post-Lunch as Nick Welch and Sean Williams batted through the second session to take Zimbabwe to 161-2 at Tea on Day 1 of the second and final Test at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram today.
Both Williams and Welch brought up half-centuries and are unbeaten on 55 and 54 respectively as the duo added 72 runs in the session off 28 overs.
Zimbabwe resumed the session on 89-2, with Welch and Williams unbeaten on 32 and six respectively.
Although the Bangladesh bowlers kept things tight, they could not find a way to break the stand, which now stands at 89.
Bangladesh have already used six bowlers but debutant Tanzim Sakib and Taijul Islam remain the only successful bowlers, having taken a wicket each in the first session.
Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bat first. The visitors lead the two-match series 1-0.
