Litton, Miraz headline final day of DPL player transfers
The two-day players’ transfer window of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) ended today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, headlined by the signings of Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz for Legends of Rupganj.
A total of 135 cricketers enlisted across 12 clubs, with many national stars turned up at the CCDM offices on Sunday to complete their signings.
The inclusion of Litton and Miraz in the same Rupganj side drew the most attention, with the national teammates set to play together for the club for the first time.
Rupganj, still chasing their maiden DPL title, have built a strong squad this season, and Miraz expressed confidence about their prospects.
Of course, the target will be to become champions. The team has been built strongly. Hopefully, if we can all play together with good bonding, we can definitely become champions,” Miraz told reporters after signing.
Litton, however, stressed that national duty remains the priority, with Bangladesh currently involved in a series against New Zealand, while the DPL is expected to begin in the first week of May.
Of course, as senior players we will try our best. But you know our first priority is national duty. After that, whatever matches we get, we will try to help the club as much as possible,” he said.
Rupganj have also secured the services of Sheikh Mehedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Irfan Shukkur, Habibur Rahman Sohan and Shoriful Islam. To cover for players unavailable due to international commitments, the club roped in Ashikur Rahman Shibli, Samiun Bashir Ratul and Shadhin Islam.
Meanwhile, Rupganj officials said pacer Mustafizur Rahman is set to undergo an injury assessment, after which discussions will be held regarding his availability.
