Jahanara allegations: BCB adds two new members to inquiry committee

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expanded the inquiry committee formed to investigate allegations of sexual harassment made by former women's team captain Jahanara Alam, the board said in a press release on Wednesday.

Professor Dr Naima Huq, former Chair of the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka and current Member of the Law Commission, Bangladesh, and Barrister Muhammed Mustafizur Rahman Khan, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court, have been appointed as new members of the committee.

With their inclusion, the five-member inquiry committee is now composed as follows:

1. Justice Tariq ul Hakim, Former Judge of the Appellate Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh – Chairman

2. Professor Dr Naima Huq, Former Chair, Department of Law, University of Dhaka, and Member, Law Commission, Bangladesh – Member

3. Barrister Sarwat Siraj Shukla, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, and President, Bangladesh Women's Sports Association – Member

4. Barrister Muhammed Mustafizur Rahman Khan, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh – Member

5. Ms Rubaba Dowla, Director, BCB – Member
