Bangladesh's fastest pacer Nahid Rana is keen to put his newly developed skills to use in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) which gets underway on December 26.

The 23-year-old, who will represent Rangpur Riders in the tournament, spoke after the team's practice session at Bashundhara Sports City on Sunday.

"I'll try to maintain consistency, and in this BPL I will try to deliver the skills I have been working on," Nahid said.

"In every game, my focus is on one thing: moving forward step by step. I'll try to help the team according to my own abilities. I know what my strengths are, and I'll try to contribute to the team based on those," he added.

When asked about the specific areas he has been working on, the speedster said he has been fine-tuning his execution.

"I've been trying to bowl the perfect yorker and the slower ones -- things that are especially important and effective in T20 cricket. Those are the areas I'm focusing on," he said.

Nahid also made it clear that he has not set any personal milestones for the tournament, stressing that making an impact for the team matters more than individual numbers.

"I don't set personal goals that I would be the highest wicket-taker. When I play for the country, if I can get two wickets at a vital moment in the match, I will be happy," he concluded.

Nahid did not have the best time in the last edition of the tournament, finishing with 10 wickets from 12 matches at an economy rate of 8.13. Rangpur Riders qualified for the knockouts but exited the tournament after being comprehensively beaten by Khulna Titans in the Eliminator.
