Father and son in same international match!
In Timor-Leste's first-ever international match held last Thursday, father and son Suhail Sattar (50) and Yahya Suhail (17) took the field together for the country, becoming the first father-son duo to appear in the same men's international cricket fixture.
Suhail and his teenage son formed part of the national side that debuted in a T20I against Indonesia in Bali.
The father-son duo even batted together, with Suhail making 14 runs and his son just one run, as the side got rolled over for just 61.
The match ended in a 10-wicket defeat for the newcomers, as Indonesia chased down the total in just four overs.
Yahya and Sattar, however, are not the first parent-child duo to play an international match together as the distinction went to the mother-daughter duo of Metty Fernandes and Naina Metty Saju, who have played six WT20I matches together for Switzerland.
Father and son have played together in first-class cricket as well, with Shivnarine Chanderpaul and his son Tagenarine playing 11 first-class games together for Guyana.
