Bulbul, Fahim, Faruque elected BCB directors

Aminul Islam Bulbul, Nazmul Abedeen Fahim and Faruque Ahmed were among the 17 directors who got elected in the board of directors' election of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka on Monday.

Bulbul and Fahim were elected from Dhaka Division in Category-1 (Districts and Divisions) after obtaining 15 votes each while Faruque, the former BCB president, was elected from Category-2 (Dhaka Metropolis Clubs) after receiving 42 votes.

Iftekhar Rahman Mithu and Manzur Alam, who were in the previous board, also got elected from the club category after getting 34 and 39 votes respectively.

Apart from them, Ishtiaque Sadeque (42), Adnan Rahman Dipon (40), Fayazur Rahman (40), Abul Bashar (40), Amzad Hossain (41), Shahnian Taneem (42), Mokhsedul Kamal (41), M Nazmul Islam (37) and Mehrab Alam Chowdhury (41) were the other nine directors to get elected from the club category.

In addition, Mukhlesur Rahman was elected from Rajshahi Division while Hasanuzzaman was elected from Rangpur Division, both receiving seven votes each from their respective region.

Meanwhile, in Category-3, former Bangladesh skipper Khaled Mashud Pilot defeated Jahangirnagar University councillor Debabrata Paul by 35-7 votes to get elected.

The National Sports Council (NSC) also nominated Ishfaq Ahsan and Yasir Mohammad Faysal Ashik as directors to complete the list of 25 directors. 

A total of 115 councillors out of 156 cast their votes through e-voting and in person.
