BCB to appoint first-ever woman selector for women’s national team

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Aminul Islam Bulbul announced on Friday that the board will appoint its first-ever woman selector for the national women's team. At the same time, a third selector will be added to the men's selection panel to work alongside chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu and Abdur Razzak.
The move comes after Hannan Sarkar stepped down from his role as a national team selector in February to pursue a career in coaching. Bulbul confirmed that a senior figure in Bangladesh cricket will fill the vacant post on the men's side.
"We have already decided that two selectors will join, one for the men's team and another for the women's. A senior figure in cricket will join Lipu bhai and Razzak, and for the women's team, we are thinking of appointing a woman selector," Bulvul said at the closing ceremony of the BCB Level-Three coaching course, held at the press conference room of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Currently, Sajjad Ahmed Shipon is serving as the sole selector for the women's team.
A BCB official also confirmed that the board is in discussions with several former cricketers to take over the role vacated by Hannan Sarkar.
