The opening day of the inaugural ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup will see Bangladesh square off against Australia, according to the fixtures announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday. 

The tournament will take place from 14 to 29 January 2023 in South Africa. 16 teams are participating in the competition, making it one of the biggest ever ICC events, with 41 matches being played across 15 days.

A total of four matches will be played each day. Bangladesh will take on Australia at the Willowmoore Park in Benoni while UAE will play Scotland at the B Oval at the same time on January 14. Later on the same day, India will face hosts South Africa while Sri Lanka will play the USA at the Willowmoore Park and the B Oval, respectively. 

Aside from Australia, Bangladesh are accompanied by Sri Lanka and USA in the Group A. 

Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka and the USA on January 16 and January 18, respectively. Both these matches will be played at Willowmoore Park B.

The top three teams will progress to the Super Six League where the teams from Group A play against two of the teams from Group D, while the same will take place between Group B and Group C. 

The semi-finals will be played on 27 January, at JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom, with the final taking place at the same location on 29 January.
