Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman broke into the top-five of the ICC ODI Bowling Rankings for the first time in his career following an impressive showing in the recently concluded ODI series against West Indies, which Bangladesh won 2-1 at home.

Mustafizur grabbed third place on the highest wicket-takers list by taking five wickets in the three-match ODI series, just behind captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Mehedi Hasan, both of whom share top spot with six scalps each.

Bangladesh will be hoping for the left-arm quick to emulate his ODI performances in the T20I series beginning today if they are to overcome the world T20 champions.

The 23-year-old's efforts helped him climb five places in rankings with a 24-point boost which saw him reach 695-rating points, just seven behind South Africa's Kagiso Rabada.

Mehedi's six wickets in the series helped him shoot up 19 places and reach 28th position while Mashrafe's labours were rewarded with a 10-spot leap leading him to 23rd position.

Tamim Iqbal remained at 15th on the batting rankings list followed by Mushfiqur Rahim on 16th position.
