Pakistan pacer Imran Khan has been reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of ICC Code of Conduct during the fourth day of second Test against Bangladesh at Mirpur.

The decision has been announced in a press release by International Cricket Council (ICC) today.

After dismissing Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal, the bowler demonstrated an aggressive gesture at the batsman which appeared to be a ‘continued send-off’, thus violating the Article 2.1.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to ‘conduct contrary to the spirit of the game’.

Having admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Jeff Crowe, Imran was relieved of a formal hearing.

Nigel Llong and Paul Reiffel, on-field umpires from the Emitates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees, levelled the charges along with third umpire Ranmore Martinez.

All Level 1 breaches of ICC Code of Conduct carry the minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 percent of a player’s match fee.
