Hell hath no fury like Preity scorned
With things going south for Kings XI Punjab while they pine away at the bottom of the table in the ninth edition of Indian Premier League, KXIP co-owner and Bollywood’s beautiful diva Preity Zinta flew off the handle at Sanjay Bangar after her side’s agonizing one-run loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mohali on Monday.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, after the defeat, Preity Zinta went over to her team’s dug-out and publicly lashed out at coach Sanjay Bangar over his choice of the batting-order, reports India Today.
Furious after the defeat, Preity stormed into the team dug-out and had a go at Bangar. Reportedly, her rant was laden with expletives and she used the F-word repeatedly. Flanked by junior players and other support staff, Bangar cut a sorry figure, stated the aforementioned report.
In a cliffhanger of a match, RCB managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Chasing 176, KXIP were well on course, thanks to skipper Murali Vijay's 89 but lost their way in the end.
The renowned actress was apparently upset with Bangar's decision to send Farhaan Behardien ahead of Axar Patel, who had played a cameo against Kolkata Knight Riders the previous week, the report says.
Behardien remained unbeaten on 9 off 7 balls, failing to make any impact on the game while Patel did not even get a chance to bat. Preity felt the Gujarat all-rounder would have been a better bet to finish the match off for the hosts.
Preity Zinta’s Kings XI Punjab have three wins and seven defeats from 10 matches, and look good for the wooden spoon in this IPL.
