Mehedi took his second five-for in his second Test against England at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.

When England went to lunch on day-2, Mehedi walked back to the dressing room with his head held high as his five-for gave Bangladesh the upper hand in the gripping Test match. Mehedi bowled 20 overs, gave away 65 runs and took the wickets of Alastair Cook, Zafar Ansari, Gary Ballance, Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow to leave the visitors' first innings in tatters.

Mehedi got the England captain Cook for 14 in the fifth over he bowled. In his 11th over, Mehedi struck again to remove Gary Ballance for 9. Early on day-2 Mehedi sent back Moeen Ali. Jonny Bairstow was removed in the 33rd over for 24. Zafar Ansari became the fifth victim for Mehedi when he fell for 13.

Mehedi became the second player after West Indian Sonny Ramadhin to achieve the rare feat of consecutive five-fors in the first two Tests for an offie.
