The weather in Islamabad and its twin city of Rawalpindi has suddenly changed over the last 12 hours as it is currently witnessing drizzle with shivering cold around the capital of Pakistan.

From the weather department, it was told yesterday that the city will witness rainy weather this week and there is also forecast of rain on Thursday, when Bangladesh will take on hosts Pakistan in their last Group A match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

In the last couple of weeks, the city has had temperatures of around 22-24 degrees celsius at daytime while temperature drops to 11-14 degrees at night.

However, this morning, the mercury dropped to 16 degrees celsius with drizzle and dark clouds hovering over the city.

Rawalpindi is scheduled to host today's Group B contest between South Africa and Australia, however, the weather has caused a delay in toss.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh team have no practice scheduled for today and the team is spending time at the team hotel under tight security.

Pakistan cricket team reached the city yesterday after losing their second match to India in Dubai.

Both teams have already lost their chances to play in the semifinals after losing both their games and Thursday's match turns out to be just a dead rubber.
