How much prize money will India and New Zealand take home?

The Indian and New Zealand cricket teams will take centre stage on Sunday as they play each other in the final of the 2025 Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Stadium. This will be the second time that the two teams will face each other in the summit clash of the competition after 2000 when the Black Claps led by Stephan Fleming defeated the Sourav Ganguly-led Men in Blue outfit at the Gymkhan Ground in Nairobi.
New Zealand are looking to win their second title while India also has the chance to win a third title (second outright) after sharing the trophy with Sri Lanka in 2002 and lifting the title in 2013. The Rohit Sharma-led side are playing the final for the third time in a row after losing to Pakistan in 2017. They are also looking to seal back-to-back ICC titles post their victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup. This is India's fourth consecutive ICC final after the World Test Championship and World Cup final defeats to Australia in 2023.
Days before the tournament started, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a prize pool of $6.9 million for the 2025 Champions Trophy, a whopping 53% increase from the 2017 edition.
It is worth noting that all teams are assured of $125,000 each for participating in the tournament. Meanwhile, a team was also awarded $34,000 for each group stage win. India won all three matches in the first round while New Zealand registered two victories. This means India has earned $102,000 while New Zealand got $68,000.
The winners of the competition will receive $2.24 million while the runners-up will be awarded $1.12 million.
In all, India will earn $2.46 million if they win the tournament. If New Zealand win the tournament, they will secure $2.43 million. On the other hand, India will earn $1.34 million if they lose the final while New Zealand will take home $1.31 million.
