Bangladesh lose to India in final

Bangladesh surrendered the lead twice to suffer a shocking 5-4 defeat to India in the final of Boys U-18 Asia Cup hockey tournament at Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium today.

Abhishek broke the hearts of Bangladesh striking the deciding fifth goal three seconds from time as the match was locked at 4-4 after Bangladesh led the half 2-1.

Bangladesh had earlier defeated India 5-4 in a Pool match. The hosts advanced to the final with a 6-1 win over Chinese Taipei yesterday. India edged rivals Pakistan 3-1 in the the second semifinal.
