Young Tigers lose in the semis
Bangladesh U-19 side lost their semifinal match of the U-19 Asia Cup to Pakistan by two runs courtesy of the D/L method.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first and Bangladesh managed to pile up 274 on the board thanks to half centuries from Pinak Ghosh, Saif Hassan and Afif Hossain.
Pinak scored a 93-ball 82, an innings that contained eight fours and a six. Captain Saif and all-rounder Afif struck 61 and 52 respectively.
In reply to Bangladesh's 274, Pakistan were in early trouble as they lost three wickets for 51 runs inside just 11 overs. A superb innings from Mohammad Taha brought Pakistan back into the game as he scored a 97-ball 92. Taha fell in the 39th over and at the end of the over rain stopped play with the Pakistan score at 199 for the loss of five wickets. Pakistan needed a further 76 runs from victory from 11 overs.
However, further play was not possible and Pakistan at that point were ahead of the D/L equation by two runs.
