Shakib ruled out of 3rd Test

Shakib Al Hasan has no chance of being match fit in time for the third and final Test against New Zealand starting from March 16 at Christchurch.

Akram Khan, the cricket operations committee chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), confirmed Shakib's unavailability while talking to reporters yesterday.

"The medical report we have received suggested that it will not be possible for Shakib to return to cricket before March 20. So there is no chance for him to play the third Test against New Zealand," informed Akram.

Shakib, who fractured his left little finger while leading Dhaka Dynamites in the Bangladesh Premier League final against Comilla Victorians on February 8, has been going through rehabilitation till now.

Akram, however, hoped that wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, who missed the second Test against New Zealand at Wellington due to a wrist injury, will be available for the third Test.
