Rain allowed only 30.1 overs to be bowled on day 4 of the Test match between Bangladesh and India at Fatullah stadium today.

After India declared their first innings at 462/6, Bangladesh began theirs’ with a high probability of afternoon showers as per the weather report at Fatullah.

Imrul Kayes was not out at the crease with 59 runs to his name. He faced 98 balls and struck 10 fours in his knock so far.

Shakib Al Hasan was giving him company having faced only four balls before bad light stopped play.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the most successful bowler for India with two wickets for 30 runs in 11.1 overs.

Harbhajan Singh captured a wicket in his comeback Test, giving away 23 runs in seven overs.

The highest partnership for Tigers was 81 runs between Mominul Haque and Imrul Kayes for the 2nd wicket.

Earlier, Ashwin got his second wicket of the morning when sent back Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim for 2 runs with a classical off-spinner’s dismissal.

Mushy came forward to defend a flighted delivery outside off, the ball dipped, spun sharply, took the inside edge of his bat and went to Rohit Sharma at leg slip for a simple catch.

Mominul Haque’s promising innings was cut short at 30 by the veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.

Mominul came down the track, couldn’t get to the pitch of the ball and ended up skewing his big shot to Umesh Yadav at mid-off.

The diminutive left-hander played 54 balls and struck four boundaries during his stay at the wicket.

Tamim Iqbal became the leading scorer for Bangladesh by overtaking Habibul Bashar on the fourth day of this Test match.

 

After giving Bangladesh a brisk start, he was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin against the run of play.

Ashwin’s delivery dipped and spun sharply and drew Tamim forward. Bangladesh opener dragged his toe slightly outside the crease in an effort to strike the ball.

Indian wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha was quick to remove the bails and Tamim was given out by the third umpire. Tamim scored 19 runs with three boundaries.
