69 Charger from Autoworld

The second generation Dodge Charger is by far the most bad-ass car to grace the movie screen. Bullitt, Fast and the Furious, Blade and Ghost Rider all preferred the obnoxiously loud muscle car as their ride of choice.

This car has always been in my Top 3 list but so far the only offerings are by Hot Wheels and ERTL, both of which are disappointing in the level of detail and finish. But then I came upon Autoworld models and they are perfection. All three years (68-70) are made in various guises including a couple of movie cars from Dirty Mary and Dukes of Hazzard.

Pros: The cars are loaded with detail despite being based on an old ERTL casting. Carpets, separate floormats, cloth seatbelts, suspension, properly hinged doors and door locks. Scissor hinged hood just like the real thing and headlights that swivel open or closed. And a drive shaft that rotates as the wheels turn.

Cons: Paint has a bit of orange peel even though the casting is very straight. Some of the chrome has flash but at this price point, it is acceptable. The seatbelts are glued on to the seats so not sure if that counts as a con for most people.

Prices: There are usually about $50-$70 on eBay. Getting them here will cost you close to 7k-8k. This has more than Autoart levels of detailing at a price lower than that an AA.
