Govt, EC heading for blueprint polls: BNP
Political opposition BNP today alleged that the government and the Election Commission are jointly moving toward holding a “one-sided” and “blueprint” election.
The party, which boycotted the January 5 election in 2014 demanding polls under a non-partisan administration, also alleged that their intentions have been surfacing gradually.
BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, at a press briefing at party’s Nayapaltan headquarters, made the allegations and also raised a question on the new secretary of the EC.
“The government has appointed a pro-Awami League man as the acting secretary of the Election Commission. So, it is starting to be clear that the EC and government are heading to hold a one-sided and blueprint election,” he said.
The BNP leader alleged that “it has become clear to the people that the Awami League has appointed the incumbent CEC KM Nurul Huda to implement their agenda”.
